Testing: Yin and Yang Patch There‘s my first attempt. I won‘t be able to try it again for several days, which should hopefully give time for these fixes: 1) A clear, whole of pattern, step numbering system can be added, and far fewer unlabeled ”i” steps while testing 2) More specific descriptions in the steps (pictures are good but some arrows and more words would help) 3) Breaking up the mega steps with three of more rows of text into individual steps 4) adding more subheadings, such as ”eye” or ”tail/teardrop” based on a labeled diagram for your own terms to make these references more straight forward

Ok so for the repeat I‘ve decided to go back to one of the ”2s” and start with the 1 hdc same, 1hdc next 2 hdc next step

”Repeat all steps for the other side”, back to which step? I think it will make sense to actually insert the instructions again, so you can have good clear guidance on which direction and towards what color/part in each line

For the second step 3, is this working towards the black piece again? I‘ll guess yes, based on the turn

Ok I think these ”i pull a new loop through” steps is off of the working yarn? maybe say yarn over instead of pull a new loop, since that makes me think I‘m pulling a loop through a stitch before working through my loose loops on the hook

I can‘t tell which stitch I‘m supposed to be pulling these loops through. I‘m ending up with giant loops stretching over the ridge of the piece. I‘ll try a few more times

Ok, I think phrasing something like this? ”Yarn over, pull up a loop, pull through two In the next stitch, yarn over, pull up a loop, pull through two In the next stitch, yarn over, pull up a loop, do not pull through In the next stitch, yarn over, pull up a loop, do not pull through In the next stitch, pull up a loop In the next stitch, pull up a loop”

The long stitch instructions are pretty unclear. I think the point is to work into a stitch, pick up a loop, only pull through 2, gathering loops along the way? Maybe re-phrase in this way?

For step 2, maybe add a note to say that this is working back across/into the white portions, in case people don‘t understand from the ”turn” instruction

on i#7 of the glue, is that sl st into the next two using the white thread to pull thread? black thread? just loops? I used white thread since it was the only one nearby

for i#5 on gluing the pieces together, is that the next stitch clockwise/counterclockwise/right/left?

For the tail step”1” really needs to be broken out into more rows that give a bit more detail here 1 sl st into next st 2 scx1 3 sc, hdc etc etc especially the ”dc, inc x2” step. After a few times I think it means do a dc in one stitch, then two dc in the next stitch, then a dc in the next, then two dc in the next. but that‘s after a guess and falling short a few times

For step i#4, do I only put one dc into the stitch or two (like the incs that are used on the rest of the project)? Rep which steps? How many times?

There are some numbering issues (multiple row 2s) as part of the black ring around the white eye

I think it is a little unclear at the end of making the white ”eye” what the extra chain is for after the sl st

Moving onto the Yin Yang I‘m still using weight 4 acrylic and now a 3.125 hook

Great clear photos and good selection for the invisible join video

You might want to add the sl st into top of ch3 at the end of each round instead of just in the note, some people likely will miss it or forget/get stuck

Starting my test with weight 4 acrylic yarn, 3.5 mm hook for the granny square
