I used #4 ww yarn for everything except the sprinkles. I used #3 lightweight yarn for them. The instructions for the peppermint buttons are NOT in the pattern but if you know how to make it then you should be able to easily do so.
I added the white stripe on the waist cause I thought I wouldn't have enough brown to complete the body. Instructions for the stripe are also NOT in the pattern but I will say that I worked it on the 13th round.
