My kangaroo came out very cute with size 6 chenille yarn and a 5 mm hook.
I will say though, that this pattern does require a LOT of sewing but other than that it works up very quickly.
I will say that for less experienced crocheters it might help to leave a stitch count on the end of ALL the rows and tell us when we're single crocheting around instead of just one stitch.
Other than that, great pattern.
