I tried a couple different ways of slip stitching because slip stitching is the way you usually finish off a crochet project like this, and here’s what I did: skip the stitch (like the pattern says) and then slip stitch in that next stitch, skip another stitch, and then slip stitch in that next stitch! It doesn’t make the project look like there’s a difference in stitching or mistakes or whatever 😊
