Just finished the frills on the first side, Ill have to look back through the pattern to see if it needs it anywhere else, but I would recommend to add a direction to chain (x) at the beginning of every row! Other than that, everything has gone very well! Tomorrow I am going to size the cover to the steering wheel before tying off the elastic, just to make sure it has a good fit, but I cant wait to see the finished result!! <3
I forgot to take a picture before I opened it, but I was finally able to get some elastic cord today! I luckily found it at my local Walmart, and it was called Dritz Beading Cord Elastic”, in case others were struggling to find some! Everything has been going very well while adding the elastic, and I cant wait to add the frills! ;)
Just finished with the dcs! I noticed that there isnt a ch 1” at the end of the first step for the frills, but this is just a quick fix! While I was crocheting, I was thinking that a stitch count would be a nice addition to the work, if you wanted to add that! I had 14 spaces per square, so I had 168 dcs total, not including the ch 3 from the beginning! It is not an absolute necessity, but I think that it would make a good addition so that you could make sure you were on the right track! The elastic I was planning on using is a bit too wide, so I may be at a stand still until I can get some more, but hopefully Ill have it soon! ;)
Just finished connecting them! I used scs and made sure to sew in all the ends! It does seem a bit big, but I am sure that this will be fixed one the elastic is added!! <3
Just finished sewing in all of the ends, and all went well! Now Im finally ready for assembly! <3
Finally just finished remaking all of the squares! Time to sew in all the ends! ;)
I have been unexpectedly busy the past couple days, so I havent been able to crochet as much as I usually would, but today I worked on finishing up the squares! The ones I was doing were coming out pretty curved, but I just ignored it at the time. Right when I was about to be done with all of the squares, my curiosity got the best of me and I tried tweaking the pattern to see if it would better the shape of my previous squares. As expected, what I changed made my squares more like the squares from the pictures, so I plan to remake all of the ones Ive already finished to ensure that all of them look their best! :) Instead of 3dc, ch2, 3dc for the corners, I had to change it to 3tr, ch2, 3tr”, but I then kept the 2 sets of dcs in between the corners the same! Since I did this, I actually had to start with ch3, 2dcs” all in one space, and THEN create the corner in the next space, if that makes since! Although I had to tweak the pattern a bit, this is just my experience! This may have not been the same for everyone, but it might just be something to take a peek at before publishing the pattern! ;)
Done with the second rows! Everything worked up very quickly and went smoothly!
Just added the petals and everything went very well! I have no corrections so far, as everything has been absolutely splendid! ;)
Although the lighting doesnt do the color much justice, I finally finished all 12 flower centers! Everything is going fairly quickly and the pattern has been very easy to follow!! <3
First flower center done, 11 more to go! Everything is going good so far, but I would make sure to make the instructions more clear that you skip a stitch due to the 4 chains counting as a dc. This isnt a huge deal, but I did have to go back and fix it since I didnt skip a stitch before. Other than that, all is well!! I have also already found that all of the pictures shown really help to make sense of everything! ;)
