For yarn, I used Loops & Threads Home Chenille (7) and for the hook I used a 10mm. It turned out massive ... 2ft 6in! Half the height of my 19yr old daughter.
I highly recommend this pattern for anyone that has some experience with sewing assembly, dec, Inc, and basic crochet stitches (including hdc).
