Finished without moss yarn.
This was a bit difficult but overall enjoyable to do. I don‘t embroider stuff like this very often so it was definitely a challenge. Make a small slingshot shape and two hyphens to form the face. This part probably took the longest.
The pattern for the wings only looks complicated. They‘re incredibly easy and fast to work up. They have a decent curve to them.
Arms are made. The way they‘re constructed and stuffed are perfect.
Body is finished. It is shaped much like a matryoshka doll.
Line of cloak/dress forms now.
The lines for the dress are easy enough to work up. I am having no major issues with this pattern. The stitch used in the pattern is one worth learning, especially for you to be able to do this pattern, so I recommend you learn it if you‘re unfamiliar with it.
I now realize the pattern works from the top down...lol.. It is definitely easy and working up well.
It‘s working up into a neat pseudo bell shape. It also reminds me of a lily at this stage.
It reminds me, in a vague way, of a bucket hat at this stage. This is the item laid flat after round 16 of the pattern.
It works up into a neat little bowl shape. This is before the you begin working on the unique urn-style shape. BOTW=Bowl of the Wild
Bottom view of the beginning of the bowl.
Here is the finished base. **Starting to realize that it is possibly worked from the top down.
Using grey acrylic worsted weight yarn and a 3.5 mm hook. Not pictured is the optional green for the moss. I might use a different type of yarn for the moss depending on how it looks worked up.
