For ears, disregard pattern. Ch 4. Sc 2. Sc 3 in last stitch, working around the end to other side. Sc 2. Moving to other side, sc 3 (do NOT sc on end; end with no tail should end up relatively flat). You should end with working yarn next to tail. Tie ends together before sewing to secure.
