For the nose, I modified the pattern a bit. I did:
R1: ch5, 3sc starting from the 2nd chain on the hook, sc3 into the next stitch, then on the opposite side of the chain, 3sc and sc3 into the next stitch (12)
R2: 12sc, FO
The extra row of single crochets gives the nose a bit of height and I also used a 2.5mm hook to make the stitches closer together. I used a 4mm hook for the rest of the body.
