If you've seen my Instagram (same username as my Ribblr), you know that I've tried to use fiber arts to convey messages and values I strongly believe in.

This time I've made a watermelon (plushie, keychain, cat toy, really it's up to you to decide) to show my pro Palestinian stance in crochet form.

The watermelon is a Palestinian symbol of identity and resistance. It first came into use in 1967 as a workaround to Israeli censorship because it shares the same colours of the flag.

In the past few years, the watermelon has been used internationally to show solidarity with Palestinians in the wake of the g3n0c1d3.

If you make this, please use it to raise awareness whether that means turning it into a keychain to carry around with you and/or bring to rallies or even post on your social media tagging pro-Palestinian accounts and aid efforts.
