Description
This is a super simple, yet fun take on a vintage insect pattern inspired by early 20th Century American Crochet. The tablecloth-style border makes for a funky frame around our winged friend, and this is a perfect small-style project fit for wall decoration.

A back panel is optional, (which I shall describe below), and makes this project even suit the equivalent size of a CD case.

As far as tools required, there is not much left to say, however I shall list some general tips and recommendations below when creating this as a tapestry crochet project.

Since there will be rows with multiple changes between your two colours, I would HIGHLY recommend using the floating method for this and all tapestry pieces. CaitsCrochetCottage has a fantastic video explaining the method, which is linked in the pattern below.

Materials
Yarns

- X2 of any colour worsted weight yarn (4mm) .
I would recommend you select two high contrasting colours to achieve a more defined end result of your work.
Hooks
- Either a 4mm or 4.5mm size crochet hook.
A slightly larger hook will help with
practicing tension if you are concerned about your stitches becoming too tight.
Accessories
- Yarn scissors or anything to cut with! - Optional stitch markers (if you would like to mark your start and end stitches as you work each row).
