i love cute amigurumi as much as the next person but i really wanted to design something that was cute yet practical for people who liked handmade items but weren't really into keychains or plushies. my mom then gave me the brilliant idea of making fruit coasters and displaying them in a basket, so that it doubled as a pretty display piece for your home! i fell in love and started work on designing them immediately, haha.

this pattern is recommended for more intermediate crocheters as it uses stitches and techniques such as the basket weave stitch, crocheting an i-cord, invisible join, colour changing, surface crocheting and half treble crochet. it also requires a lot of sewing (both sewing pieces together and embroidering details on the fruit coasters!). however, i have included links to helpful youtube tutorials any time a new stitch/technique is mentioned, as well as lots of images you can refer to as a guide, so please don't let that stop you if you're interested in making this pattern!
