Welcome to the magical world beneath the waves! Meet your newest tiny ocean companion: the Sea Sheep, also often called leaf sheep or scientific Costasiella kuroshimae.
This fascinating little sea slug uses its leaf-like cerata for photosynthesis (they eat algae and store the algaes chlorophyll in their cerata, where they use it for photosyntesis) - more specific the process is called kleptoplasty.
Planning some time is recommended, as especially the cerata may take some time, but it's worth it in the end, when you finally hold your own adorable sea sheep in your hands:)

I won't recommend to use plush yarn for this pattern! You'd have to be able to crochet small count numbers in a round and the color changes might be difficult with plush yarn.
