About shop Hello, my name is Heidi and I am the creator behind Things of String. I taught myself how to crochet at age 9 with a little reading help and the passion of taking the vintage art of crochet to make modern projects that still feel like grandma made them. In 2011, Things of String came to life as I started selling product and writing patterns for my personal use.
