I used a thin book so I stopped at row 20. For the front piece I did the first skip 2 then crocheted until there were 3 stitches left, skipped 2, crocheted in the last stitch. I chose not to use a button as the chain keeps it closed. I also only needed to do 2 rows for the sides.
