They make fun projects for intermediate and advanced crocheters. You have the option of inserting wireframes in the dolls or making them without craft wire.

Witch: 5.5" without the hat
Girl: 6.5" including the hat
Boy: 6.7"

Recommended yarn weight: DK/light worsted
Recommended hook: 2.5mm/C-2

If you would like them to be larger or smaller, you could use a different yarn weight and adjust the hook size accordingly.
