The Penelope Poncho is a very simple crochet pattern using mostly double crochet stitches and chains. Penelope is worked in the round with slip stitches to join. It is a great pattern to follow to make your first wearable as it is very easy to resize (instructions to follow) and made to measure.

Penelope is light and airy, making her the perfect layering piece for the beach or any cute outfit! This poncho can be worn with the corners in the front, aligned with the shoulders or even as a scarf, making it very versatile.

I used fingering weight yarn and made a size S-M, you may use any yarn but note that a smaller yarn may need more beginning chains / rows and a larger may need less. Follow the resizing directions in this case. I used 693 yards so please note this if you're making a larger size than a small.
