The convertible hat/cowl can be worn in 3 or 4 ways itself (beanie/toque, ponytail/bun hat, cowl, neck gaiter, & maybe more), plus you get the scarf and mitts.
All have the same texture, so once you master the "special" stitch, all 3 patterns have an explanation and video, you'll be able to complete your set in no time. All are considered advanced beginner, as they use common beginner-friendly stitches, but one stitch is a variation that requires a little practice (the "special" stitch). Only the mitts have a small amount of shaping.
