The EU General Product Safety Regulation (GPSR) applies to physical consumer products and certain types of digital content that are embedded in or essential to a physical product. Based on the guidelines published by the EU, our understanding is that Ribblr ePatterns are standalone digital content and therefore not covered by the GPSR. However, if an ePattern is bundled with a physical item or is used to create handmade products that are then sold to consumers in the EU, then GPSR may apply to those physical products. In such cases, the maker or seller may be considered a “trader” under the regulation and could be subject to product safety obligations.
