This bird bag is inspired by one of my favorite birds to watch in my garden, the Eurasian blue tit. It's made up of a cheerful yellow body, a round green-and-blue flap, and a small head with a blue cap, black eye stripe, and a tiny pointed beak, all the little details that make this bird so recognizable.

The color scheme is easy to adapt if you'd like to make a different bird instead, and I'd love to see what you come up with! This pattern includes lots of photos and helpful notes along the way to guide you through each step.

The bag comes together from several pieces in different shapes, like half circles, circles, and straight rows worked from a chain. All pieces are crocheted separately and then sewn together, so you should feel comfortable with basic sewing and color changes.

For most of this pattern, the overall size matters more than the exact stitch count. Some pieces need to fit together in proportion to one another, so you should feel comfortable making small adjustments to the number of rows or rounds to adapt to your chosen yarn and tension.
