Description
This colourwork cowl has drawn its inspiration from the art beneath your feet – in particular the cast iron street furniture such as drain and sewer covers. This particular pattern derived from some tiles on a doorstep, and when knitted up also resemble the Knot garden design from the Tudor period. So the name "A Knot of Tiles" relates to both references.
This pattern is from a collection of 6 knitting designs that use this 'mosiac' style colourwork.
This pattern is charted for 2 colours using the Fair Isle technique for stranded colourwork. The chart pattern is repeated 2.5 times.
Sample knitted in Malabrigo Rios and Sublime Merino DK, it measures 9 inches tall by 10 inches wide.
