Description
A crochet moth made to look like a pinned insect for your pinned insect collection.
This is modeled after the Eastern Buckmoth but the pattern can be adjusted to make other species.
(No moths were harmed in the making.)

Notes:
- You don't have to use the exact yarn I used, you just want to make sure your yarn works well with a small crochet hook and that the yarn can be fluffed up when brushed through
- The fine tooth comb is for brushing your yarn, I used an eyebrow comb but anything that can fluff up your yarn will do
- The number in brackets in the instructions is the expected stitch count after completing the round

What a clever pattern! I love that you can customize with different moth species, and the pattern itself is detailed with awesome photos to guide the maker along! I can't decide if I like it better framed or singular, but it looks so cool ”pinned”, I decided to make it the final journal photo. If you want to see the moth out in the wild, scroll to the next post in my journal!

Love this pattern very much it's very unique! The pattern is good for intermediate crocheters, and for me took about an hour and a half to make with acrylic yarn and 3.5 mm hook! Check this pattern out if you can!

This was a very fun project. I made fist one with plush yarn but to be honest it looked a little bit funny But with this yarn - I LOVE IT! The pattern is very easy to follow and everything is explained very well. I used Alize Superlana Klassik and a 4mm hook.

Super cute and easy pattern. You could modify it to any moth colors too so you could make an entire collection of them

A gorgeous and unique pattern - I'm really pleased with the results. I used mostly dk weight cotton with some dk acrylic for the thorax and antennae for a bit of fluffiness, and used a 3.5mm hook.
