Description
When I volunteered to do the July dragon, I wanted to do something that screams summer without being picnic food or purely "America, patriotic, red white & blue" and most of what I could find inspiration-wise was very much focused on modern American Independence Day celebrations. But I also found one thing that while being very Americana, had a balloon dog in the picture, and I thought about summer fairs and carnivals. I did balloon animals for school and church events for a little while as a kid, and I just knew I had to do a balloon dragon for you!
I decided I should make a crochet pattern of an existing balloon dragon pattern. Most that I saw initially were overly complicated, based on a popular character or would not translate well into a crochet plushie. But the first result that wasn't an image referenced one of my all-time favorite books by my all-time favorite author. I couldn't help but look and found it to be an adorable balloon dragon that I think would translate well into a plushie!
