Description
This snake is my first tongued snake pattern. This snake is for a gift, most of my creations are gifts. You can sell makes using this pattern, just don't copy the pattern.
(Starting with this pattern, I will now introduce Snake Lore!!!)
--Snake Lore--
Swept away from the kelp nest that bound the serpent's eggs to the seabed, an egg was pulled by the current. It drifted on for many days, only to hatch in an unknown river. the serpent crawled out of the pile of eggshells. It was greeted by a large Heron.
The Heron peered at the serpent, curious about what this creature was, it was unlike the other snakes it saw. The little serpent lunged at the Heron, biting her leg. The heron was not scared or angry at the serpent, but instead observed the serpent closely. Then the Heron spoke with a loud, but soothing voice. "I will call you Sapphire."
The serpent seemed to love this name, she slithered out of the river and twisted around the heron's legs. The heron, amused by this, decided to take her to her nest. She grabbed the Serpent with her beak, and took to the skies. They arrived at her nest. It had baby birds, and eggs in it. The heron called her babies to greet Sapphire. "Children this is Sapphire, she is your new sister." One little baby heron wobbled up to the serpent. "Mommy, why did you bring a snake into the nest, it is dangerous." An older heron approached. "This snake doesn't look harmful, it even bit mother, but she is fine." The Heron mother taught her children to accept Sapphire. The children grew with Sapphire, they all learned how to fly. Sapphire was saddened, that she herself could not learn to fly, she looked at her back and saw no wings. She was transported by the family caring her.
As the days went on, all the babies became independent, they said their goodbyes and flew off to make their own families. Sapphire promised to visit them. The mother heron stayed at the nest with Sapphire and told her: "Sapphire, my dear, you are a sea serpent, I am getting older, and you are too large for me to carry by myself, it is time that you must learn to be independent." Sapphire Peered with bright eyes at her mother. "Will I still get to visit you sometime." The Mother sadly said no, and said goodbye as she Flew toward the sunset. Sapphire started to cry. She tried to catch up to her mother. But it was too late. The sunset seemed to engulf her mother, Sapphire then cried loudly. "Please come back." Then softly "Please..."
Sapphire slithered to the sea. She accepted her mother leaving. she grew older and older, she then wanted to visit her mother and siblings. She swam back to the place of her childhood. She first visited her brothers' and sisters' homes, but they were gone. She then cried and slithered quickly to her nest that her mother raised her in. Mother was not there. She slithered up the tree and a note was etched on to the wood of the tree. Sapphire read it aloud. "The older we get the closer we come to death." Sapphire now knew that her mother was flying to her death. Sapphire cried and cried, she decided to stay at that nest until she died. She would never leave how thirsty or hungry she was. The time came when she passed. Her last words were. "I am with you mother... Where ever you are."
