The ostrich is the largest bird on earth. They can grow 9 feet tall, and weigh around 250lb! Due to being so big and heavy, ostritches cannot fly. Instead, they are very powerful runners, and can run up to 45 mph for shots bursts.
Ostritches are native to the African Savannah and deserts, although they are raised in farms and zoos all over the world.
Ostritches are omnivores, meaning that they eat both plants, and meat! The meat ostritches usually eat comes from small Rhodents, and lizards, although bugs also make up a large part of their diet.
No sew mini ostrich pattern. The bird stands approximately 4" tall when made with worsted weight yarn.
Pattern difficulty: intermediate. Stitches used: ch, slst, sc, dc, inc, Dec. Surface crochet is used for the wings, tail, and beak.
This pattern is part of my African animals part 2, pattern pack.
