Hey, lovelies! I’m Lauren, the designer and maker behind Knit A Bit, Crochet Away. Knitting is a family tradition for me and started when I was 10 years old, with my very patient mother showing be the basics. I knit with my paternal grandmother’s needles and use my maternal grandmother’s knitting bag.
My knitting hobby soon became an obsession that I used as a form of meditation. I learned how to crochet in 2010 and also began designing patterns. I started writing them down here in 2014 and have connected with so many wonderful makers in the process. I took the plunge into hand-dyed yarn in 2019 to create custom color ways for myself and fell even more in love with fiber arts.
I live in Connecticut, USA with my loving husband and two sons, and can usually be found with my project bag and pattern notebook in tow.
