In November 2021, I was at my first networking event.. I met so many people that night, but the one that stood out was the head of the outreach committee for the group. He had a project that anyone could help with from home, making friendship bracelets. That first month I made 120 bracelets in the wish bracelet style. By month 3 I had made over 850 bracelets. As much as I love to crochet, I could not crochet more than a bracelet due to a disability. This project gave me back something I thought I had lost, and gave me a way to exercise my hands more, reducing pain. The project was ending so I decided rather than quit, I would keep making bracelets to share and sell. Eventually I tried to make earrings. One of the patterns I was trying didn't call for an increase where one was needed and I ended up with a bowl. Only idea I had with a bowl was flip it over and make a jellyfish. Instant love for Amigurumi was found and I have been making plushies since!
