Start with a free collection
When I know what craft I'm in the mood for, I start with a free collection (free crochet patterns, free knitting patterns, etc). On Ribblr, there are always new free patterns added (like - every single day!), so it's a good idea to see what's currently available.
Use feed, search and filters
Start with your feed and check the Explore and For You tabs for recommendations. The more you use Ribblr, the better it gets at recommending patterns. Use the search and in particular filters when you want something specific. You can also use the sort button to sort by price, popularity, etc. Sorting low-to-high can help find free patterns. That is the fastest way to stay in true free pattern territory!
Teach the recommendations
Like I mentioned, Ribblr gets better at recommending patterns the more you use it. I wishlist patterns I like, follow shops I want to see more from, and keep checking the For You tab. That gives the recommendation system more signal than just a one-off search. And so this way I get personalized recommendations which get better each time I use Ribblr.
Check the pattern page
Yes, FREE is awesome. But free still needs to fit your skill level and your yarn stash - otherwise it's not really free, it's just frustration... so start by checking the pattern page to make sure the pattern is a good fit for you. Look at the photos, reviews, pattern info and all details available.
