Give the texture some space
Simple cushions and scarves are a good way to show off a soft yarn. Look for a pattern with a clear shape and a short stitch repeat. If you want a blanket, make one square or swatch first so you can judge the fabric and estimate how many balls the full size will take.
Test a toy before making every piece
For a plush toy, work a few rounds and check for gaps when you add stuffing. The yarn can make a toy feel lovely, but a soft surface does not close open stitches on its own. A smaller hook may help, though it can change the finished size. Stitch markers are handy when the pile makes the top of each stitch harder to spot.
Compare more than the weight
A smooth super bulky yarn and Smooshy can produce very different fabric. Compare gauge, texture and length before using it as a substitute. You can find the exact ball details in Ribblr materials; the substitution guide explains what to check next.
