--Snake Lore--
Rare beauties like Goldenstaar Snakes only come out to mate and hunt every 1, 000 years. Locals knew about the Goldenstaars for centuries. They would come to greet them and they would also preform a ritual, celebrating the snakes. They called it Sairaituku, or "Celebration of gold"
This year, when the snakes came out, Warriors, and sorcerers plundered the locals, they stole all their ritual items and captured them, they put them in prisons built for thieves. Archers were ready to shoot the Goldenstaars, their hides and scales would fetch a high price in the Underground Market south of the Goldenstaar village. The snakes were not prepared for this.
Archers and warriors killed vast majorities of the snakes, only few survived. Ones that survived fled to the rigid mountains. There they started to rebuild their colony. From teachings, we know that it was heartbreaking to see their homes destroyed, the ones who celebrated them were destroyed. The dead bodies being carried away by the archers. Generations passed and none were brave enough to go out and discover the world. They were taught to never go there. Yet one brave hatchling stood up to the Goldenstaars and announced that he was going to explore the outside world, and bring information about what was there. His name is Zurathaz. He became the most well-known snake in the history of that world. He scaled the peaks, sailed the seas, trekked the plains, hiked the forests. He came back to the Goldenstaar colony safely, he told everyone about dragons, other snakes, huge birds that flew the savannas, the species of insects and rodents.
His most famous story is about his adventure to the savannas. He said that humans lived there and they were like the ones that stole from the village, many moons ago. But they were nice. He talked about what the humans said about the Goldenstaars, and how they now want to try to nurse them back to existence if they find any more. Apparently. Zurathaz mentioned to the snakes around that savanna that he had a sister. His sister had not one gold scale, but an ominous hide of dark purple scales. His sister got mad at him for trying to escape under the elders command. So they battled, and Zurathaz won, he was determined to find the world. He had a scar on his cheek from his sister, lashing him. He overheard the humans talking about the Goldenstaar. They were saying a name that made no sense to Zurathaz. They said Luckborne. Zurathaz now knew why they were talking about that name. Humans gave them that name because they saw Zurathaz and his sister fighting. The luck part means that Goldenstaar are coming back from their hiding. They are all lucky to have them back. A shimmer ran through the grass. A white star sign appeared on Zurathaz's Head. Symbolizing: "You saved all of them."
