cotton 4 ply (black for the sakura cat); for the bunny or cat

chunky chenille (white for the sakura); for the toppings

Hooks

i used a 3.5 mm hook for the 4 ply yarn and 4 mm hook for for the chunky yarn; adjust your hook size depending on your yarn so the pancakes keep their shape- if you‘re using soft yarns like chenille or velvet, you may want to scale your hook size down even further since those yarns don‘t hold their shape as well as yarns like acrylic or cotton.
