Description
The truth is out, aliens are here ! But just to give us love and tissues !
This Crochet Pattern will guide you to crochet an alien tissue holder as shown in pictures, made using soft acrylic yarn (DK / 8 ply) and crochet hook J (6 mm).
The alien works up quickly by crocheting it with 2 strands of yarn, held together. This will give a nice, thick and soft fabric to cover the package of tissues and for countless hours of cuddling !
If not using as a tissue holder, the alien will be a funny rag doll friend for the little ones in your life.
Stylecraft Special DK was used to create the tissue holder in the pictures. Wool or cotton yarn will be suitable too for this pattern. Finished size will be approx. (l x h) 26,7" x 5,1" (68 cm x 13 cm).
Most parts of this alien will be worked in continuous rounds. Only the back side of the body (the flaps at opening) will be worked in rows. There will be an opening at the back side to insert the tissues and a button closure.
Materials used:
- crochet hook size J (6 mm)
- yarn: light grey (approx. 235 gram, 755 yds, 690 m), small amounts of dark grey, black, red, white
- stitch marker, tapestry needle, pins, 3 transparent buttons diameter approx. 0.75"(1.9 cm), fiberfill stuffing, - optional: black sewing thread
- the content of 1 rectangular tissue box (a regular Kleenex box was used to create the alien in the pictures, size: (h x l x w) 2.5" x 9" x 4.5" (6.5 x 23 x 11.5 cm)
Stitches used: chain, slip stitch, single crochet, half double crochet, double crochet, working in back loops only, increasing, decreasing
Skill Level: Advanced Beginner / Intermediate crochet
Approx. Gauge: 5 sc = 1.2" (3 cm)
