Say hello to Amethyst, she loves to play all kinds of games, but jumping games are her favourite. Amethyst is a great friend, and only occasionally gets into mischief! She is a unicorn who can easily stand alone, with a gorgeous curly mane and tail.

Amethyst the Unicorn has a body made in one piece from the neck down to the hooves. The head, horn, mane and tail are made as separate pieces and sewn on. The way the unicorn is constructed means that there is only minimal sewing required and takes the guess work out of where to sew the limbs. Included are lots of photos to show you how to join all of the pieces together to make your unicorn. Also included in the pattern is a troubleshooting guide for what to do if the legs don't end up in the correct position.

This is an intermediate/advanced level pattern, some crochet knowledge is required. Not recommended for complete beginners, but the pattern does include detailed step by step instructions and pictures to help you.

Using the materials suggested this unicorn measures 24cm. Any yarn can be used with this pattern with an appropriate sized crochet hook to create a tight tension, although other yarns may affect the size of the finished unicorn. Suggested materials: DK (8ply) 100% cotton yarn, 3mm and 2.5mm crochet hook, toy stuffing and 9mm safety eyes.
