Description
Be like a tortoise: comfy in your own colorful shell !
This crochet pattern will guide you to crochet an amigurumi tortoise as shown in the pictures.
The tortoise’s body, legs, head and tail will be joined together as you go along; there will be hardly any sewing left to do !
Finished size will be approx. 6,5" (16 cm) tall, crocheted using acrylic yarn (8 ply / DK), and hook size E (3.5 mm). If you wish to make a larger or smaller version of this tortoise, you can just use thicker / thinner yarn and larger / smaller crochet hook. This pattern is also suitable for wool or cotton yarn.
Gauge is not important for this pattern; just work tight enough so your stuffing will not show through.
Materials used:
- Crochet hook size E (3.5 mm), fiberfill stuffing
- Yarn: for the body, white or cream (for 1 tortoise: approx. 55 gr, 177 yds, 160 m), For the shell, small amounts of white, dark brown, gold, aqua blue, dark blue, soft pink, bright pink For the eyes, small amounts of black, white, pale tan and pale blue
- Stitch markers, tapestry needle, pins, black yarn or embroidery floss, optional: matching color sewing thread for eye attachment
