Description
In 2023 I will have a monthly series of Celtic knot squares! This knot is another type of shield knot and is sometimes used to symbolize luck. All of my designs come with the full written pattern and charts for two techniques: interlocking crochet and overlay mosaic crochet. For the series of knots, the interlocking crochet option is done from the bottom-up and the overlay mosaic crochet option is done from the center-out. As of the end of November 2023, I have added a bottom-up overlay mosaic crochet option as well.
Use the Table of Contents to jump to the technique you prefer. You will also receive two PDF files, one for each technique: interlocking crochet (from the bottom-up, like normal) and overlay mosaic crochet (from the center-out, no cut ends to worry about).

____
The Locked Filet Mesh (LFM) interlocking crochet method uses only chain spaces and double crochets to create a mesh; two colors are worked alternately which creates the pattern.

Mosaic crochet uses single crochet and double crochet stitches. The double crochet stitches cover some of the other color's single crochet stitches to create the design. When you work in the round you carry your yarn up the corner so there's no need to cut it at the end of each round.
