Description
Crochet these beautiful and very easy Auntie Monika’s Granny Squares!
This Granny Square project was born when I inherited my Auntie Monika’s napkins after her passing and started using them at home.
I quickly realized how great they look in a contemporary setting even though they were made about 50 years ago using only very simple, rough-looking yarn.
I particularly love the way they look on shiny surfaces such as glass.
They have a very light, lace-like finish which looks perfect as part of home decor elements.
It’s a perfect basic one square project, which can be turned into napkins, table runners, stand-alone coasters and even bigger items.
This pattern includes Step-by-step How-to instructions and detailed process pictures.
The pattern is presented in 3 sections:
Section 1 is a short version with no process pictures. It is best when you have already crocheted this square and need only a quick recap.
Section 2 is a long version with process pictures for every step. This section is best when you are crocheting your first couple of squares and need detailed guidance.
Section 3 gives you a few ideas of what to do with your squares.
The pattern is absolutely fabulous when completed!
The granny square can be made in any colour and size – everything depends on the size of the hook and yarn used.
Thread & Hook used
Double thread of 100g/ 450m yarn
2mm size hook
