Description
Description
The Baby Waves Ripple Blanket is a large baby blanket using ripples throughout the body for a lovely defined texture and waves of different reef-inspired colours running through it. The border is made up of 3 rounds using basic crochet stitches, giving it a simple, crisp edging. I've used Yarnsmiths Pebble Haze Aran for the beautiful range of colours and tones and the soft cloud-like texture.
You can change the size of your blanket quite easily by adding or removing ripples to alter the width and adding or removing rows to alter the height. You will need to alter the number of chains in your starting chain; details to help you work out what your new starting chain will be are in the pattern.
The pattern is clear to follow with detailed instructions and lots of pictures to help you make your blanket. Skill Level: Beginner/Intermediate: the body of the blanket uses a chain to start, rows and basic stitches, the border uses basic stitches and is straightforward; there are colour changes throughout the blanket.
I've made the Baby Waves Ripple Blanket using Aran/worsted weight yarn and a 5.5mm (I) crochet hook. The finished size is 35" x 37".
The following stitches/techniques are used in this pattern: chain, slip stitch, single crochet, half double crochet, double crochet, increase, sc2tog, back loop only
(This pattern is for personal use only, not to be resold or rewritten in any way. If you're sharing or selling the finished blanket, please credit the design to me.)
