Description
The purpose of this set of cowl patterns is two-fold. Firstly, these are beginner-friendly, skill-builder patterns with enough information both in text and video form to learn some Tunisian techniques that can be applied to many projects.
Secondly, us yarn lovers purchase special skeins of yarn just because we love the colours. These skeins are often highly variegated with short colour changes and dont work well in many applications they can hide lace patterning and bury stitches amongst splashes of colour. I have many of these beautiful skeins in my stash including four skeins of gloriously hand-dyed 8 ply cotton yarn purchased from VK yarns in mid 2021 (during a very long COVID lockdown and via an online yarn festival). Not much Ive done has worked with the yarn, but I refused to let it defeat me! Ive developed four cowl patterns using techniques that are achievable for someone new to Tunisian crochet, all using as much of the skein as possible. Each cowl features bobbles and are worked in the round with a connecting stitch.
Im going to teach you how to work in the round with a cabled hook (with my favourite, easiest, best-looking method), how to make bobbles, how to increase well and decrease with ease. Each project is a relative quick make and will be great for yourself or gifts for anyone.
Thank you to Anita Reinehr for tech editing this pattern.
