Description
The Story:
When I sat out to make this cardigan pattern, I didnt realize the uphill battle I was going to have,
but in the end, Im so glad I did this and stuck it through. There were moments of frustration,
panic, and straight-up questioning if I could do this, but I did! When I sit down to write patterns, I
often dont have a plan. Instead, I tend to start working on an idea I have in my mind and hope
for the best, all while writing down what Im doing. This started out the same way. I had ideas of
how I was going to assemble this and a stitch pattern in mind, but I wasnt sure if it would work.
At the end of the day, Im glad to have such a beautiful finished piece.
This pattern is written with the goal of it being a fast item to make. It has a 4 row repeat that
carries through the whole pattern. Everything is worked flat and then stitched up together. There
is a video showing how to do both the hem/cuff and the 4 row repeat itself. If you know basic
crochet stitches, this is a super simple pattern to pull of despite how it turns out! All in all, it took
about 4 weeks time to make this cardigan as someone who also works full time. So this is very
approachable for anyone who is on a slight time crunch and wants to have something beautiful
to make in their free time.
I am modeling a finished cardigan in the size 4XL. I am about 5 foot 8 inches tall and wear a
size 3XL in unisex t-shirt sizing. The pattern is written for sizes XS to 5XL, but I have included
instructions on how to make it much larger, or just to adapt it to any size, if you so choose.
