I recently read The Ministry of Time and I keep thinking about the chicken bag. It's just so whimsy and silly and I love the idea.
This pattern is pretty simple, it's a half circle with some BLO and FLO. You only need to sew once to connect the two main pieces (and some more for a lining... But I cannot help you with that one...)
I'm not the fastest and I worked it in a couple hours. I used a chenille medium yarn (6mm) and a 6.5mm hook, around 150gr, if you use a lighter yarn you should add more rows (you can find the correct increments searching for "half circle crochet pattern").
