Description
Time to bake some Christmas cheer!
This pattern describes how to crochet a set of festive Christmas Tree potholders as shown in pictures, made using sport weight cotton yarn and crochet hook size C (2.5 mm). Schachenmayr/SMC Catania was used to create the potholders in the pictures. Finished size will be approx. 6.7" x 6.7" (17 x 17 cm) including the edges.
These handy potholders with a decorated Christmas Tree depicted to their front sides, are made in 2 separate panels, worked in flat rows using tapestry technique, then joined together and finished with a pretty contrasting colored edging all around, including a hanging loop.
The potholders are double layered, making them sturdy and thick enough to hold all hot dishes.
Skill level: advanced beginner / intermediate crochet.
Approx. Gauge: 10 sts x 10 rows: 1.57" x 1.57" (4 x 4 cm)
Stitches and techniques used: chain, slip stitch, single crochet, half double crochet, bobble stitch, tapestry technique, blocking (optional)
Full color chart and written instructions are both included.
Materials used:
- crochet hook size C (2.5 mm)
- sport weight cotton yarn, for 2 potholders: cream (approx. 115 gr, 315 yds, 287 m), green (approx. 25 gr, 68 yds, 62 m), brown (approx. 5 gr, 14 yds, 12 m), yellow and red (each approx. 8 gr, 22 yds, 20 m)
