Description
Description
The Confectionary Cowl is designed using a mixture of basic knit stitches and simple techniques to give the illusion of cabled candy canes. It also features a unique bumpy cast-on. This is the ideal project to jump into knitting.
Pattern is worked in the round from bottom up: working a bumpy cast-on, 3x1 ribbing through the body, then 1x1 ribbed top edging and complete with tubular bind-off.
Cast-on multiple of 4 for swatch. This tutorial may save you some time on swatching in the round - https://youtu.be/ZzC6N4SGhos
Use your choice of cast on. Sample was made using a long tail cast on with two needles for a loose edge: https://youtu.be/_Z9cP9b9uQM
Suggested Tubular bind off tutorial: https://youtu.be/7SxUp64Mp_s
When wrong side and right sides are referenced, this means the columns of raised knit stitch texture is the wrong side and the columns of knit stitches with hidden purl bumps texture is the right side.
To customize length, add/subtract more/less rounds in body section of pattern before moving to top edging. To customize circumference, add 4 sts for every 2" desired.
