This pattern is inspired by the Sophie Hood by Petite Knit, which is a knitting pattern. I wanted to create my own crochet version of this hood. It is very simple to make and suitable even for beginners.

The crochet hood is worked in a single piece from one end to the other. At the end, the hood section is sewn together and an edging is added to define it. The pattern is divided into two halves.

In the first half, there is an initial section with increases, followed by a straight section, and then a section with decreases. In the second half, the process is mirrored: it also begins with a section of increases, followed by the straight section, and ends with the section of decreases. All increases and decreases are worked on one single side.

For this project, I used the lemon peel stitch, which is created by alternating single crochet and double crochet. The pattern specifies exactly in which rows the increases and decreases are worked.
