Description
I was inspired to design this pattern based on the dark academia trend. It is characterized by higher education, literature, poetry, the arts, as well as classical Greek and Gothic aesthetics. It has become a popular literary motif as seen in books such as The Secret History, If We Were Villains, and Babel. It has even transferred over to fashion, characterized by browns, beiges, and other neutral colors, long coats, turtlenecks, and -- of course -- sweater vests.
This sweater vest is worked flat in two pieces, and then stitches are picked up around the neckline and armholes for the ribbing. I would say this is an intermediate level pattern, but an advanced beginner could also follow along. If you have any questions, you can always email me!
