Let this little dog keep watch over your tissues!

This crochet pattern will guide you to crochet an adorable dog house tissue box cover as shown in pictures, including the dog and bone. The tissue box cover will be made using sport weight cotton yarn and crochet hook C (2.5 mm).
The cover can also be made using wool or acrylic yarn, as long as it's suitable for crochet hook C (2.5 mm). The tissue box cover in the pictures was made using Schachenmayr SMC Catania.

Finished size will be approx. 7.1" x 5,9" x 4.7" (h x w x d).
There are 2 openings; 1 at the bottom to insert a box of tissues, and 1 at the top to pull the tissues out. Parts in this pattern will be worked in rows, as well as in continuous rounds. The dog and bone are both made as appliques.

Skill Level: Intermediate.

Approx. Gauge: Before you start, you may need to check your gauge. This is important for fitting the cover over the tissue box.
Working in continuous rounds: 5 sc = approx. 1"
Working in rows: rows 1 - 4 (of 'walls' instructions): approx. 4.7" x 0.8"

Materials used:
- Crochet hook size C (2.5 mm)
- Yarn for the house; cream (approx. 70 gram, 191 yds, 175 m), medium blue (approx. 30 gram, 82 yds, 75 m), black (approx. 7 gram, 19 yds, 18 m) For the dog; small amounts of light brown, dark brown, white, black For the bone; small amount of yellow
For the grass; small amount of light green and dark green
- Square tissue box (for example Kleenex, size: 4.33" x 3.94" x 4.72" (11 x 10 x 12 cm) (l x w x h)
- 2 black beads approx. 0.16" (4 mm), optional: cream and black sewing thread, textile glue
- Stitch markers, tapestry needle, pins, scissors, measuring tape, permanent marker
- Plastic canvas 7" mesh, 1 sheet approx. 13.5" x 10.3" (34 x 26 cm) or sturdy cardboard and sticky tape

Stitches used: chain, slip stitch, single crochet, half double crochet, double crochet, bobble stitch, increasing, decreasing
