This video uses US crochet terminology. Specifically the double crochet stitch which is the treble crochet stitch in UK terms.
Measurements:
The size will depend on the yarn and hook you choose and may not be the same as mine.
My soap saver measures 7cm (2.75 inches) x 11.5cm (4.5 inches).
What you'll need:
lace, fingering, sport or light DK weight yarn (see suggestions below)
A crochet hook to match your chosen yarn
2 stitch markers
A bar of soap
A darning needle
A pair of scissors
