Description
Meet Eggy Easter Egg. This petite Easter egg sits snug in its woven basket, which is adorned with a delicate ribbon and bow. Eggy Easter Egg is the sweetest addition to the Easter Eggies bundle.
The pattern starts from the top of the head and works down, incorporating the arms and feet as you crochet. There is a small amount of sewing required for attaching the eyes, basket handle and bow and a little simple embroidery for the mouth. I've provided options for either safety eyes or crocheted eyes. Using DK yarn and a 2.5mm hook, Eggy Easter egg reaches a height of approximately 10cm - the basket is a little taller at about 15cm. I'd love to see your completed projects; feel free to share them by tagging me on Instagram @dreamweave.creations or visiting my Facebook page, DreamWeave Creations.
I have assigned an advanced beginner skill level to this pattern. While the majority of it involves simple stitches, there is some assembly required in sewing components together and some less common techniques involved in shaping the basket handle and bow. Additionally, the basket is created using basketweave stitch and the rim is finished with crab stitch.
Feel free to explore variations by swapping out yarn and hook sizes to achieve a different outcome, and get creative with experimenting with various colours.
