Description
Show off your love for sports and all things silly with the Football field scarf!
This pattern includes an explanation on how to crochet the Football field scarf and a graph. The pattern is perfect for beginners. It's pretty simple - the only crochet techniques used are half double crochet and tapestry crochet.
Materials needed:
Yarn: lace weight mohair in two colours:
50 g (approx. 400 m) green
8 g (approx. 64 m) white
Yarn: fingering weight merino in two colours:
110 g (approx. 440 m) green
15 g (approx. 60 m) white
3.5 mm hook
Scissors
Tapestry needle (to weave in ends)
To make my scarf, I used Scheepjes Mohair Rythm and Scheepjes Metropolis held together. For the green, I used #678 Boogie and #029 Salvador, and #690 Bop and #024 Cota for the white. If you prefer crocheting with a single strand, I'd recommend using a thick mohair or alpaca yarn which requires a similar hook size (3.5 mm) because the 'hairiness' of the yarn resembles the grass on a football pitch.
If you post pics of your scarf on any social channel (instagram, tiktok, etc.), please tag me - my handle is @devout_hand. Even if you don't post your pics, I'd still love to see them <3
