The happy mom will be in awe of your amazing diy skills and the happy baby will love the blanket's colorful coziness. Use an easy-care yarn for bonus points, but don't feel constrained by my choice of cotton yarn in the instrux because this design works for almost any yarn. I made a second blanket with bulky boucle acrylic in citrusy colors and was equally thrilled with the results. Obs, the yarn weight will affect the size of the blanket, so keep that in mind when you choose your yarn.
