Description
The Glamjamas were designed as a set that can be worn separately as nightwear or everyday casual wear. With the recommended Berroco Modern Cotton, you are sure to be lounging in luxury. Keep in mind that cotton is known to stretch with wear.
Pants are constructed top down, starting with the band. Then, they are worked in the round while building the legs vertically and joining to the band as you go. The short rows are the crotch and the long rows are the legs. Leg length is provided in 2 sizes regular (tall). Pattern is designed with zero ease for a close fit at the hips and bells out for legs. Amount of ease will depend on where you fall within the size range: model is 53" with 36" hips at bone, wearing size XS/S.
Sample used no-fray glue to achieve a shoelace-tip look on i-cord.
Beginning chains do NOT count as stitches.
To gauge legs; 20 sts x 12 rows in alternating BLdc & FLdc rows to achieve texture on RS & flat fabric on WS = 4" blocked. Rows are more important than sts as they designate circumference
Reference the golden loop technique to control gauge: https://youtu.be/97Vpxaf8wvk
To customize leg length: measure from waist to foot, This should be the length of the band and the long rows. Add 5 stitches for every inch desired when foundation stitching for the long rows.
To customize crotch length: measure from the same position between your legs from front to back waist. This should be the length of the band and the short rows. If you're blessed with more tush than me, you will more than likely need to add more stitches - 5 stitches for every inch needed and a few more to the back short rows (which are the rows opposite the i-cord opening).
